One of the things that really hit me on a visit to Latvia was the number of painted roofs. Mostly red. But I did not get to see what was under the paint - maybe galvanised panels? (I think I could see seams on some of them.) And many others had obvious corrugated sheets.
I didn't really think of the flying and non flying animals... I don't normally see them when I'm outside. I may give some of that a try. Thanks. I don't think I'll go for the "quiet track" thing as it really doesn't matter. I doubt anyone will hear it if they're not listening.

Don't know about web sites but there are whole books in Home Depot / Lowes and whole magazines in Borders devoted to log homes. Steve.

Yeah but the thing that bothers me is that NONE of the filter sites let you search by FURNACE - which would be more helpful.
Googled and read at least a dozen sites talking about rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) ingredients including several MSDS sheets. No oil mentioned at all.
If you google western electric phones there are several sites that have lots of pictures of W/E phones and handy info about them.
