Update, this site: http://www.keek.co.uk/shop/Gas_Hobs25677.htm?ref=dealtime says that the lid does cut off the gas. But, since they sell it for £104, it would suggest that it isn't very well built :( Lee

They have their own ebay site and have clued-up shop staff who know how to assess the value of an item.
Has anyone ever used a shop vacuum called "Shop Pro". This shop vacuum is sold here in Canada as an alternative to Shop Vac. I tried searching this group and nothing came up. I will be replacing my shop vac soon, judging by the sound of the motor.
The point is, shop around. I got a full featured card and software from one of the internet outlets for $60.
I worked in a small engine shop many years ago and one of the old timers had us use a business card to set the clearance. It was pretty close to the correct gap and a lot easier to use then a feeler gauge.
The number 1 best thing I ever did for my shop was to buy ($90) a 96 drawer card file catalog from a university. Unbelievably useful and handy. Can put bolts/screws in drawes per size;blades for hand plane/planer/jointer/hand jointer in drawers per tool, etc.
Visit a fireplace shop and not just Lowes or HD. particular.
Whilst visiting a tap (kitchen, baths and basin) shop, I noticed that they were displaying an extensive range of attractive looking grab rails. The grab rails were _not_ the unattractive white 'Council-supplied' format.
The auto parts shop! That's right. They have little 6" trees that put you right in the pine forest! Bring back memories of a simpler time, chesnuts and marshmallows in a roaring fire, granny spaced out on eggnog; visit AutoZone today!
