OT: Rant about PC World "cashback"

Well looking at some of the other links relating to this, is it a totally free card, ie no per transaction fees, no ATM/counter fee if you just want the cash? And being a credit card can you go past the amount of "pre-load" and get charged some horrendous interest rate?

repairing a motorcycle seat

I can buy one on ebay for $50 shipped, but given your hint, I just called a local shop and he says it might cost $30-$40. Another shop said the worst case price was $75.

Air Filtration

Are my business assumptions correct?

Depends on the shop. Is it one you've used before and know the owner? If so, good chance you can just tell him you wanted to put them in yourself and could not and need his help. An honest shop will charge you a fair rate for labor.

Philips 28" telly repair

You should find a repair shop that will do a no fix no fee job. IME the smaller and more backstreet a repair shop, the more chance of them getting it done within budget. Dont waste time with the fancier premises. NT

TOT household rubbish

I'm pretty sure its the manufacturer or importer that will reimburse the 'shop'. Usually the shop will only accept bottles it sells. Where there's a will there is always a way.
