I'm going to build a fancy checker set for my grandfather. I think this is a good project for me to try my hand with shellac. I've read lots of stuff about shellac, but I don't know where any of my books are... :) Can I expect to buy something acceptable at one of the Borgs, or am I going to ...

Brass garden hose nozzles and brass on/off switches (and missing o-rings)

In my environment (lots and lots and lots of sunlight), non-metal materials don't seem to last. Of course, if they made the nozzle out of the same stuff they make my recycle bins from, then they *would* last outside.

OT - Best height for lawnmower handle?

I haven't bought any lawn mower for years so I don't know if anything has changed since but I guess either go to web sites that sell mowers and look at their specs or just google this question. I would visit more than one site tho to see if you are getting more or less the same ...

OT wheelie bin pollution rant

The special wagon which collects our rubbish can only take wheelie bins because of the lifting gear which is designed to take bins, not bags.

AVG continuing annoyance

Do you regularly visit dodgy sites? Do you madly click every spam email? If no to those, ditch AVG. If yes to those, you do need anti-malware of some sort, but AVG apparently sucks and gives you a hard time. Ditch AVG and use malwarebytes or some other.

I used to run several low cost sites like that. GetSimple was a great CMS that would run in a few MB of web space and didn't need a database. TW
