My daughter's science fair project

One of my self-indulgences has been to keep a spray bottle of Windex in the shop. It works well on glasses. I have a square of felt-like micro-fiber material from an optical shop that works better than anything else I've ever tried...

Chopping 52" Biesmeyer Fence to 30"

I believe the Shop Fox is compatible with the commercial Biesemeyer, with a 2"x3" tube and a 42" fence bar vs. the 1.5"x2.5" of the Home Shop. Charlie news:... > > crazy idea. Unless someone talks me out of it, I'll probably do this.

Hearing Protection

This thread is already dead, but anyway, I put the foam inserts in as soon as I get into the shop. Then I put the Peltors on when I fire up the router, or the shop vac, etc. But not the table saw.

Gosh I hope this is a gloat/Lumber yards in Buffalo NY?

The shop is listed as an authorized service shop for a number of different tool manufacturers. I suspect it's a unit that was brought in for repair and never picked up. They probably listed the tool on Ebay for what they had into it.

Be careful out there!

He never explained that, but I really don't know any reason he couldn't have continued to teach wood shop. He still had one hand intact. Maybe he wanted to quit teaching wood shop while he still had enough fingers left to switch to drafting!

a bit ot: how is an auto key retained in position - except one

The only time the key can be "moved" is when the pins are free to move up and down in the tumbler.

Re: Hand Saw Sharpening Inquiry

Put on some music, find a nice comfy shop chair, and start sharpening. 4 or 5 teeth later, think about how peaceful it is in your shop and keep going. Puckdropper

electrical - tester says hot/neu or hot/grd reversed

That box has a 100A breaker that runs to the shop, and a 200A breaker that runs to the house. The pole to shop is about 200 yards and there are 3 large wires.

Origin of Home Depot

If someone doesn't like a store, they shop there infrequently, if at all. They'd rather give the business to someone else. If someone hates a store, they never shop there. There's a lot of room between dislike and hate. R
