Just take it to a REAL saw shop - one that buys chain in bulk and makes up chains as required. They will have the proper equipment and know-how. Used to be a shop a few miles away had Oregon chain by the pail-full.
SNIP SWMBO already has spoken to me about tracking shop effluent into the new digs. Depending on what she wants to spend on new flooring and the new kitchen, I may have a couple of bucks left over for shop stuff. Then again, probably not.
We even have a Steinway shop here and they buy, refurbish and sell restored Steinways. I could buy a nice car for what those pianos are going for at that shop. Still, donation is a good thing too.
Are the T8's the way to go in a new shop? I've had the fluorescent lights before...just the el-cheapo from local borg. Never really gave it much thought but have a new shop waiting for the house to get built.... DAC
I enjoyed the Shaker-like projects and shop-made fixtures, specific machine care/setups, jigs, and shop-made tools. It would be very interesting to see one of Norm's first episodes.
I'd rather get it out of the shop and let someone else share the profit so I can be IN the shop, not out pimping my work.. mac Please remove splinters before emailing
I use an iSocket on my SCMS, controlling a shop vac. It's a whole lot cheaper than Fe$tool. http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/2005855/18215/ISocket-Vacuum-Automator.aspx>>> Or break. BTDT with other plastic parts. I use a plastic trash bag to line my shop vac.
The day you start taking an oil change to a shop is the day you probably should leave this group. :) You don't know what they do with the car. Just watch them some day, and you'll never want YOUR car in their shop, ever.
There are mains powered ones: http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/clarke-cew1000-electric-impact-wrench?da=1&TC=SRC-impact+wrench also the 12V ones mentioned before: ...
I can't decide between a Delta, Jet or Shop Fox. I'm leaning towards Jet simply due to price, however Shop Fox comes with more standard accessories making it about equal in price. Any input would be appreciated.
