are three phase machines any safer than single phase?

I saw a good one in a charity shop last week. An ancient desk lamp had a PAT sticker duly affixed to its 13A plug. The plug was of similar antiquity and (you're ahead of me here I bet) did not have shrouded pins.

hinge pins

What you need is a machine shop. Take one of the pins you have left down to the local metalsmith, and he can turn out a couple new ones on a lathe for you. No idea what the price would be, but it is a simple job, especially if he has a lathe with a duplicating arm on it.

Beginners Syndrome

Leather tool bags you wear are what carpenters, electricians and whatnot wear working on a construction site. Cabinetmakers working inside in a cabinet shop generally wear "baker style" aprons, designed specifically for the wood shop.

Material for workbench top

Bosch ROS shop-vac adapter

I don't know about Bosch, but I found a shop vac hose to fit PC ROS at Highland Hardware. You might check their web site.
