Wide and long shades for porch

I have googled until I'm blue. I have a screen porch that's appx 14' x 14', and the screened portion is about 7' high. I'm trying to find some roll-up blinds, bamboo or some other, that I can adapt to this. I've found one website that may sell what I need, but they haven't responded to numerous questions. There's a site called callaloo, but I can't even figure out the site to see their offerings, even though it *sounds* like they should have what I want. They want $15 to talk to you on the phone, so I won't bother.



I've tried searching for porch blinds, porch shades, bamboo blinds, bamboo shades - and I do find places. Some have prices that are patently ridiculous ($379 for a 4'w x 84"L bamboo shade), but most only sell 6'L shades.



I know people make these things. I used to be able to get them from the J.C. Penny catalog, about $200 for them all, but no more. Does anyone know of a source? Online preferably, but anyone will do fine.



To be more specific, the length (7') is the big thing. I used to get a couple of 96"w x 84"L and cut them to size myself for two of the walls. The third wall has a door to the outside, so I got a 4' one and two 5', and trimmed them to fit.

It's been a while, but I think I saw matchstick blinds in varying lengths at Lowes and Home Depot,. And they didn't cost all that much.

This time of year you should be able to find them a lot of places. Lowes, HD, Target maybe even Kmart. Around here JC Penny stores have sought out the retail window covering market. Even they may have them in store. Seven foot is a standard height/length. The 7' width may be a problem.

Most of the chains don't bother to list seasonal stuff on the web sites.

About all that is sold is plastic nowadays.

The length is the problem. I'll take a ride tomorrow to look around, but the standard max length seems to be 6 ft.

Justblinds does 12 foot wide 8 foot high. But 84"x84" is only

167$ natural color.

Well, I looked around in stores today and couldn't find anything longer than

6', which is the stumbling block I'm finding on the net. Pier 1 has some 7'L, but the max width is 4'. I'll take a look at them anyhow and see if there's a way I can trim off enough to use them.

It's discouraging, because the 6' ones are inexpensive. For the record, it seems that all vertical blinds for that application are 84", but they won't work here. Of the few online sources that carry what I need, the absolute cheapest would cost over $800 delivered. I could probably find a cheapo trip to the Caribbean, have fun for a few days, buy my blinds, and bring them back as excess baggage without spending more than that.

I saw some today at the local Lowes (Central KY).

Ambria was the brand name. 96 x96 was $23. Smaller sizes also 96" long were cheaper. They had white and brown with flat plastic slats and a decent looking head rail. They were not stocked with the regular matchstick blinds but were a separate display in the drapery department. Even if your local store does not have them they may be able to order them from the distribution center for you. It usually helps if you talk to the department manager or assistant.

Or maybe with a brand name you can find them online somewhere.
