Vinyl siding question

I bought a house with vinyl siding this year. Having grown up with cedar siding I have a question.

Do you have to seal the holes when attaching brackets to the side of the house (screwing through the vinyl)?

Hi, I'd dip the screws in Silicon sealant. Tony
