Telephone for elderly person

My elderly mother has difficulty hearing and seeing; and pressing the buttons on her Panasonic KX-TGE233B Cordless telephone.

The base unit is plugged into a phone jack in a bedroom. The other two handsets (which she uses more) are located in other rooms (with no phone jacks).

What other CORDLESS telephones would you recommend? Or can a CORDED telephone or a rotary telephone be used in this application?

What was the resolution with your drain trap? I for one enjoy knowing how these things turn out.

The "A" key was not in the P-trap -- it must've gotten flushed out to the sewer.

Unless you have a jack or want to run one to the areas where she is most likely to use a phone, the answer is "No, you can't use a corded phone).

OTOH, if you're willing to get rid of the current Panasonic phone (a shame because they are generally a pretty good setup), you can find cordless phones designed for the elderly and vision impaired.

Just do a Google search on the words:

cordless telephone for visually impaired or elderly

There's no need to put them in quotation marks, your results will include quite a few cordless setups with those huge buttons you're looking for.

At least you were able to get the trap off and learned how to do it. Replacement keyboards are inexpensive.

Clarification: The cordless telephone must have 3 handsets and an answering system.
