Take the Ethanol Challenge by Husqvarna

Husqvarna launched the Ethanol Challenge, an animated, online quiz designed to help educate consumers on the effects of ethanol as well as prevention of ethanol-related product issues. Husqvarna has issued the Ethanol Challenge in order to provide the tools for consumers to gain awareness about ethanol, in hopes that education can help them maintain and care for their Husqvarna equipment.

Not to watch the video or to read what they have to say. I'm not sure about registering to win the prizes.

While e10 ethanol seems to work ok in late model cars, it sure is the fuel from Hell for small engines. I've had my Stihl, Kohler, B&S, Generac and John Deere dealers all tell me to use e10 within 30 days or dispose of it.

One of our local equipment dealers sell real gas in five gallon cans.

You can "dispose" of your 31 day old e10 in my car if you like!

Pour it in the back seat, or the front seat?

I'd be worried about the survey being "politically correct". Pushing ethanol, rather than saying what is really happening.

I'd prefer to take the Ethanol Challenge by Jack Daniel's. If they ever have one, that is.

our local stihl dealer was telling us that gas goes bad in 30 days 20 years ago. Way before the ethanol came around. Personally, i don't have a problem with it. It's about all that is available around here and i don't pay much attention to who is selling it and who is not. I haven't had any problems with my stihl or exmark small engines whatsoever.

And, I figured it would only be a few hours till someone said something.

I wonder how ethanol crap gasoline will affect industry? Now, remote logging operations will have to get their gasoline flown in every 30 days, instead of once or twice a year?

Dang it, I saw that coming as soon as I hit send. In the fuel tank please, and I'll even take the 31 day old 2 cycle mix!

reminds me of the days when dad would run out of gas on the way home from the lake and pour the leftover outboard gas (we hauled our own) into the truck

It's all bs sales hype. It doesn't go bad in 30 days and it's not near as destructive as you'd be led to believe. The fact of the matter is the small engine people are getting out of warranty claims with this scape goat ethanol. It is pure bs.

It was my pleasure. Of course, the two stroke stuff works fine, in the car's gas tank.

I've heard of painters also using paint thinner in the gas tank. Not sure that did much good, but who can tell.

Seems like the lake was too far away, or maybe Dad ought have tanked up at town?

I figured as much.

How a car can use this fuel jes fine while small engines crumble into rubble makes no sense at all. Jes a handy excuse for the cheap junk now being manufactured in China. nb

Well said, and I totally agree. That whole Husqvarna thingy was just a poor effort to cover their ass.

Looks like a trap to snag your Facebook account. Husqvarna should come first not ethanol.

I just had to have the carbs on my sled ultrasonic cleaned because I forgot to drain the gas at the end of last season.
