swimming pool steps turning yellow

Our IG swimming pool has white plastic steps that are suddently turning yellow. Any wway to get it off? the thick bottled pool cleaner did not help much.

bleach will turn some whites to yellow.

It is the plastic itself that turns yellow. You can't clean it off. John
