Looking at the HF knock-off

Found a discussion of it on a discussion board but was couple years old and while quite active it petered out before a significant number had received it and used it to comment. So, I'm wondering if anybody here has one and can comment on its construction, use, and particularly, it's longer-term durability. Particularly whether the release mechanism continues to function w/ time...
It's cheap enough, certainly, but if it's more trouble than help, I'd rather spend the extra and get the green one or a named variety (like Land Pride or similar)...
