Before you make the final decision for that next time, give this some thought...
A sloppy job of painting...with paint spattered everywhere and on surfaces where it doesn't belong...is NOT something that can be easily fixed. And you PROBABLY wouldn't want the same contractor fixing those mistakes anyway. And he'll tell you that there's nothing wrong with his paint job anyway.
So...a terrible, cheaper paint job...done unsatisfactorily...will necessitate hiring an ADDITIONAL contractor to fix the mistakes.
You've got an advantage here that MANY folks don't have. You've got an honest, dependable painter that does quality work. Many folks would LOVE to have access to that kind of a person...cost be damned!
You should continue to let your wife take care of the painting responsibilities. She's doin' an excellent job. Keep your nose out of it! lol If you have to, go out and get a part-time job to pay for it. Its called the free-enterprise system! lol
