The temps are related to food safety and preservation -- not to outside
temperature. If you are concerned, buy a thermometer.
The refrigerator should be between 34 and 40. Lower than 34 you have
freezing problems. Over 40 you have spoilage problems. Note that the fridge
temperature will not be the same through out the compartment.
The freezer should be below 0 degrees. If it varies, put short-term foods
(ice cream, etc. -- at least this is short-term in my house) in the warmer
