That's a good thing, as they are (or should be) single use and better than cloth ones.

True, they can't even get the easy ones right. Try fitting a respirator properly and then envision one of those people trying to use one. They might as well just chew gum or something -- but then they can't walk.

At least he's doing something, he is otherwise (at least here) quite the contrarian.

So? People die every day. Are you upset by the deaths of babies in the womb from abortion? What about deaths from the flu? OH WAIT!! The flu has been cured by covid. What about deaths from bacterial pneumonia? WAIT!! They don't report on pneumonia, either. EVERY DEATH THESE DAYS IS VIA COVID!! Not even car accidents cause death, now. It's ALL COVID.

I knew a guy that died because he failed to answer a chain letter.

Strange that millions of mask wearers here have caught covid.

Non maskers not so much.

It's the opposite here.

Wow, you really went off the deep end didn't you.

Where is the study which backs up this strange assertion?

Sure, and why should anyone believe you? Okay, maybe the couple across the street aren't married? Is that what you mean by opposite?

After all this time he still doesn't know this? When commenting on N Zero masks it was posted by many people here just how the ratings are done for the respirators and how it cannot apply to the cloth face coverings. The important takeaway was that they rate them by using the most easily penetrating size particles - larger and smaller particles get *over* that 95 percent figure - not under.

Not just near others, but being where others may soon follow. Fomite is still a vector despite the breathing of shared air being the most talked about.

Funny how nobody ever says that when they are selling these things to industrial customers who might actually test them. A whole lot of mythology has come up around these masks but I was dealing with them for the last 30 years. I actually understood what "N-95" meant then. Now I don't even trust that unless I get some very good evidence of the source. That Frontline story a while ago about PPE quoted some medical people saying more than half of the masks they had were counterfeit and wouldn't come close to the standard stamped on them.

They had the CEO of our largest medical conglomerate on TV here talking about it. He admitted if you die WITH covid, it is a covid death whether that was the main cause of death or a comorbidity. He also talked about payments. Basically it all depends on the initial diagnosis as far as Medicare/Medicaid is concerned. They can't suddenly decide later that it was a covid death. So what they do is withhold the initial diagnosis until the covid test comes back. Then it can be a covid case if you test positive. I suppose, in spite of the bullet hole. They did not ask that question. He did say there were other traumas that got scored as covid. I can't find the story on their web site but I have it on my Tivo. I can post the audio if you think I am lying.

Why do you think that is true? They might be extra careful around others and keep their distance, washing their hands more etc because they don't think those masks are saving them. I know I feel that way. I do not have any confidence that rag on their face that they have been carrying around, reusing since Easter, is saving me from anything. It might actually be spreading the virus if they collected some on the surface, on their hands or in that fetid pocket they are going to shove that mask in as soon as they get outside.

Without proper protocols, masks are just fashion statements.

When I do wear a mask, I put on a new one, wear it as long as I have to and throw it away. They cost a f****ng quarter. Why would I want to save it and all of those germs it was supposed to be protecting me and others from?

It reminds me of an old man's handkerchief that he has been blowing his nose in all day and shoving back in his pocket.

I have a life to live these days. Providing this one ng with studies and data won't change anyone's mind who belong to the mask nazi club.

I've heard many medical workers say the same thing about death tallies and covid.

That's ALL masks are ... fashion statements. They've been promoted and marketed with wording to make the consumer "believe" if they WEAR a mask, it means they "care" about other people... THEREFORE, if someone does NOT wear a mask - that person automatically DOES NOT CARE ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE.

What a jump in logic THAT is! Wearing masks have zero to do with "caring" about other people.

Knock it off. How can people have a good argument if you keep introducing FACTS?

Right because Trump said he won't wear one. You just follow what he does. Logic does not work with you. Barriers help prevent spread.

I don't wear masks because it's MY BODY, MY CHOICE. I take care of MY health in MY best interests, which means, I don't wear masks. What keeps MY body healthy is to NOT wear masks.

There's NO proof masks "help prevent" anything.

I hug people, so hugging isn't a bad thing.
