I use DOSBox myself for some 16-bit utilities that I wrote in
>QBasic.
My old dBase stuff still runs well in DOSBox too

The problem may be that you have thousands of hours developing old apps that still do all you want. That is why so many businesses still run XP, particularly Point Of Sale and other things where the "job" does not change.
