I want to make those cross arms a lot more shin-friendly.
Pool noodle does not last - tried it on my roof racks and it wore out quickly - and there's the diameter issue.
Maybe pipe insulation, but I don't know where to go for something with that large an inner diameter.
Push-comes-to-shove, I'll get some shop floor mat from Home Depot, cut it into sections, and lash them to the arms with 1" strips of old inner tube.
But I figured maybe somebody here could come up with something a little more elegant.
