OT What I don't like is. ... norms

OT What I don't like is. ...that commentators keep saying that trump has *destroyed* norms. Debate decorum was the last one.

He's violated them and assaulted them, but it's too early to know if he's destroyed them. I'm an optimist and I think that they willl all be back and healthy after he's gone. Except for a few, 5-20% that are replaced with something better (which will never be what stumpie did).

Anyhow as is typical of me, my big complaint is their using destroyed when it's the wrong word. I don't remember anyone using one of the right words.

No one every destroys something like that.

They don't even change the rate of change of stuff like that.

Yep, tho certainly politics in the USA is getting a lot more mindless and divisive, but it has been doing that for all of the last century and during the civil war too.

He did put a stop to as much war mongering as was seen with the worst of the hawks with the shrub.

Yeah, its just another wild exaggeration.

We see that with the economy too. Yes the GDP had come off about 33% but its silly to claim as Bob does that Trump has destroyed the economy. Even the virus hasn't done that.

It will recover fine, you watch.

One column I read blamed the hyperbole on the cable channel talk shows. Each one uses more dramatic, divisive language and hollers louder to get an audience. It's not a lot different from the tv announcers for sporting events. Are there any routine ground balls left at pro baseball games? The announcers don't sound like weather forecasters. They seem to holler a good share of the time.
