Some day?
Some day?
About what I woke up to this morning. I shovelled my driveway, but used the blower for my 175 +/- ft of sidewalk and the neighbour's driveway and 120 feet of sidewalk. I blew out the "gutter" along the front to clear the storm drain in case we get a melt again next week. It's been up and down like a yo-yo with last night the coldest of the winter season so far. (about -20C)
This is what I use for sweeping snow off the vehicles:
I've lived here for 27 years. Periodically a county truck shows up with some patch material they shovel into some, but not all, of the worst potholes. Typically they do this when it's below freezing, raining, or preferably both to ensure the patch has no hope of sticking. Then they go away.
One year they actually repaved about 30 yards of one side. They were working on another project and had a little hottop left and needed a place to dump it.
otoh, being ignored by the county government has its advantages.
They make wool flannel lining? All I've seen has been cotton. These days a pair of Malone wool pants will set you back about $150 so I make do with MilSurp.
We're on the upswing of the yoyo and it must be up in the 30's (F). I did some tree pruning I wanted to get done while the tree was dormant but I didn't necessarily need it to be 10 below type dormant.
That get's an entry in the urban dictionary as 'dirty hooker'. I'll stick with my traditional corn broom.
Plastic blade. i rarely have to scrape ice. I can remote start and turn the defoster on if needed.

stan. I looked out the window and there is a lot of snow in the courtyard a nd a lot of the staff are trapped here because the roads are closed and aut horities want people to stay off the iced over streets and highways. The TV and radio stations are on top of Red mountain so those folks had to spend the night at the stations. My brother is up on Rufner Mountain and there is no way to move without an accident because you'd slide right down the hill. No thing much is moving and the streets are deserted. Lot's of wrecks, jackkni fed trucks and people stuck. The 4wd news vehicles are out showing all the
18 wheelers parked on the side of the interstates because they can't move o n the black ice. The good thing is that there are no power outages to speak of. ?(?)?Around here the TT don't pull to the side; no they stay in the lane. Then the ones behind him pass and proceed to clog up the other lane so no one moves. Of course the cars are no better... No aspersion upon Mr Bowman here as he was more professional than the new crop.

+1 That's a good term-retraining time. Also the new drivers that haven't any experience.Oren posted for all of us...

I agree with that. These are what the car dealers use. Brushes and brooms don't hack it. My neighbor used to plow my driveway and he is getting old so he found this kid that needed work. The neighbor plowed the driveway and the kid plowed the paint on my two new cars to the tune of $1500. I am glad the neighbor stopped plowing, he never charged but I paid in the end with the kid. He's a great neighbor so I never said anything...
If it never snowed again I wouldn't miss it.
