OT parking ticket Plus !

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - My wife and I went into town and visited a new shop. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. We went up to him and I said, "Come on man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?" He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. I called him an "asshole." He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn-out tires. So Noreen (my wife) called him a "s*****ad." He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield ... Then he started writing more tickets. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote. He finally finished, sneered at us, and just walked away. Just then our bus arrived and we got on it and went home. We look for cars with MAGA or Trump 2020 stickers on them. We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired.  They say it's important for people of our age to have a hobby! My apologies to the officer!

Now that's funny, though funnier when it's a Biden or democrap sticker.

A smart cop might get suspicious though

The funny thing is knowing the reality that the cop would have both of them in cuffs, maybe bleeding a little at the first "asshole". If they went for their cell phone they might have been shot 10 or 15 times but go ahead give it a try.

I'll ask my next-door neighbour if he'd rough-up an elderly couple who were razzing him .. I think not. Duh. The real reality is that parking-ticket cops are often wanna-be cops. by-law enforcement types. .. but it's just a joke so who cares. John T.

If he's writing parking tickets, he's probably not the smartest.

Hilarious! But no, I'm not going to be doing that. I feel bad for the people who have been duped by Trump and I don't think it's fair to kick them when they're down.

Let's not get to extreme.

I actually ran down the street cause I saw a parking enforcer writing a ticket near my car and thinking, "come on, time didn't go that fast". I yelled to the cop asking to wait I'm coming to add more money and ranted a bit about the legitimacy of the meters and if they're ripping us off. He stopped and waited for me. As I neared my car, I discovered it was the car in front of mine and said "oh shit, that's not mine, go ahead and continue" while laughing. He smirked as I viewed my meter realizing I did actually have much time remaining but still said thanks for waiting anyway. I wonder how often that happens to them.

Sometimes it IS Johnny Law writing the tickets. Unlikely to get shot for it here in Canada, but depending on the state - and your skin color, I wouldn't rule it out in some of the US states - or cities

Meter maids are on "production" (write enough tickets and keep your job) so they are usually pretty unsympathetic. The only time I have ever seen a road deputy or a street cop writing a parking ticket is if he is responding to a complaint. That is not a guy you want to screw with too much because he isn't usually happy about it and he would love an arrest to get his numbers up. Guys working "traffic" are always hoping every speeding stop can turn into a warrant or a drug bust.

One of the cable networks had Parking Wars. They covered the ticketing patrols in Philadelphia, Detroit, Providence. Most would give a break when they could but a lot were written electronically. Once they push the OK button, they cannot retract it.

That's how it is here. You have to stop them mid stream or it's too late. The enforcers in my local city are fairly lenient. They can be since they earn much revenue on parking fees along with the meters.

We get a freebie courtesy ticket if you haven't gotten a ticket within 6 months. Right now all parking tickets are suspended in an attempt to get people downtown again.

So that'll never happen then!

Parking was big money in DC but there are really only about 5 blocks in Ft Myers where meters make them much money. I haven't worked down there for 30 years but they used to have 2 meter maids working on foot. If they were keeping 2 women busy it must have been generating plenty of revenue in that little patch.

The parking thing in DC was such a deal that the 3 jurisdictions (DC,Md,Va) refused to swap motor vehicle data. Md and Va would not help DC collect on delinquent parking tickets so they all just stopped sharing any data. You could be revoked in DC or Virginia and Maryland would never know
