Yup, and it's all vulnerable. Remember when somebody cut the cable off the coast of Egypt? Suddenly all the call centers in India had to route via the Pacific cables for a round the world trip to Europe. Supposedly that was just some ship dropping anchor in the wrong place and not deliberate sabotage.
