We were talking about generators here recently. Costco mailer has a $150 off coupon for a Firman Dual Fuel Generator, gas/propane.
7500 watts gas
6750 propane
Electric start, 8 gal tank.
Like all Costco coupons, it doesn't say how much it costs.

Last year, as a new Costco . ca customer, I went through the first or second mailed-out " catalogue " - only to find out - that you can only see the pricing - after the " sale date " ... duh .. Even if you phone them < which I did > ... the selling price remains a big secret ! for some reason .. Big Duh ! I will be cancelling my Costco before next renewal. The only advantage that I can see to a Costco membership is for big family quantity purchases < no good for a retired couple >
or travel < our reason for joining >
.. but after 2 - 3 years we have lost the savings of our original membership < travel > savings .. We don't live close-enough to benefit from the Tire Shop advantages ... John T.
The web site shows one for $500 so that would be a good deal. I ended up ordering one from Amazon
Home Depot price $629 Amazon price $499 Saved $130 FL tax exempt $ 30 hurricane supplies exemption this week Amazon Prime CC $ 25 rebate
So looking around at competitive prices and good timing, I saved $180 over just going to the big box store.
We have had the yellow CTC MasterCard for many years and get 10 cents per litre off every fill-up .. much better than all those " points " from other cards ! .. no fees at all. but no premium/platinum features like rental car insurance or purchase insurance unfortunately. The CTC gas bars are located ~ convenient enough - so that we very seldom fill up at any other station - even the 401 Service Stations are commonly CTC .. I don't think the new Triangle card will save me a penny < ? >
I do feel a little guilty getting lawn mower gas from the local station ... 2 or 3 times per year .. John T.
I used the yellow "gas advantage" for years but now that I'mm "retired" I don't spend enough at CTC to get much more than 2 cents per liter off. I get 5 cents per liter CTC "money" on the triangle card from liter #1.
I buy my lawn mower gas (shell premium) from the station 2 blocks away - I KNOW it doesn't have "hooch" in it.
If you are buying enough on the yelllow card to latch onto the big discounts the triangle card won't help you at all.
