Can anyone recommend a high quality non programmable thermostat. The programmable one is too much for my parents. Needs to cover gas heat plus ac. Thanks.

There are non programmable electronic stats. honeywell does make a replacement for the t87 which is round but is electronic. I forget the number but it also has a good size temp readout. Depending on what state you live in you may need to stay with an electronic model as some have banned mercury stats.
