No Natural Gas in NYC

Building projects submitted for approval after 2023 or 2027 need to use other sources. The timing depends on building height.

Even if only half of that is medium voltage distribution That is a lot of wire to replace and some underground might take years. The ducts may be full with the wire they have now.

Then there is this gem in your article "Today?s ban will likely push forward a New York state requirement to obtain 70% of its electricity from renewable sources like solar, wind and water power by 2030 and achieve a net-zero emissions electric sector by 2040."

They still haven't said how that power gets from a wind or solar plant upstate to NYC. Most of the electricity generated in New York State gets turned to heat in the NYC metro area.
