You are missing something with your alleged humor. What are the ICE cars doing? Gas pumps won't work either so they are no better off.

I would have thought that you believe in capitalism. So Con Ed should assume vast budget deficits? How do you think they would compensate for that? Maybe raise their rates? And who will be paying those higher rates? ALL OF US. That a re-distribution of wealth. The wealthier are forced to pay the electric bills that the poorer people couldn't afford to pay. That's not capitalism! You can't have it both ways. Try not to be so dogmatic. Sometimes the best answer is a compromise between opposing extremes.
