Melnor "fire hose" nozzle review

I bought one, today. It has the "kewl" factor of being big, and looking like fire department item. I tried it, and two other nozzles on the same water faucet, using the same hose.

The other two were a pistol grip nozzle from Dollar Tree, and a zinc sweeper (straight stream) nozzle from Walmart. All three deliver close to 5 GPM, and reach about 45 feet. The sweeper has a tighter straight stream. The sweeper reaches about two feet farther.

Both adjustable nozzles do a good job of spray or stream. Overall, it was a fun experiment, but I won't buy another one. Unless you work on construction site, or are a fire buff, don't waste your money.

I prefer this one for yard and cleanup duties

Looks like about the same size nozzle, on the front. I wonder if it's the same nozzle, but different grip?
