LED replacement for 18 inch fluorescent

I've been replacing fluorescents with LED direct wire as bulbs or ballasts fail, I'm nearly at the end of the process.

But this one in the bathroom is an 18 inch. F15T8, one tube each side of the mirror, neither tube works. Ballast, starter, tube, don't care, just go LED.

There are lots of 2 foot, 4 foot, and 8 foot LED replacements at reasonable prices but unless I want to buy 100 of them I'm finding very little for an 18 inch.

There are some plug-and-play Type A's, but I want to get rid of 20 year old ballasts and of course the starters, just rewire and be done. Type B are scarce in this size.

Any recommendations?

Do the replacements have to be 18" tubes?

I had 2 chrome vertical fixtures, 4 bulbs each, one on each side of the mirror. (Vintage fugly)

I replaced them both with LED sconces, patched the holes and painted.

Something like this:

I replaced a fixture like that over the kitchen sink with one with four incandescent bulbs many years ago and now all the bulbs are led.

Good thing it's dimmable. My number 1 rule for a bathroom light is that it dims. Bedroom lights too.

And as far as I'm concerned, NO night lights. I want it DARK when I'm trying to sleep.

Sure, for the bedroom, but I want a nightlight in the bathrooms or any other part of the house I may go to for some reason. Kitchen has one too.

Bedroom has a low watt light that is voice activated if needed. Plenty enough light for watching TV. Other lights if needed for cleaning, finding clothing, and such.

I read that the purpose of the little toe is a device used to find furniture in the dark.

I was referring to the bedroom above. I do have LED lights in other places (like kitchen) that aren't visible from the bedroom.

I have a multicolor LED light in my bathroom. It comes on white and can be set to other colors by pressing a button. I make it green. Since there is no nonvolatile memory it's always white after a power failure. It it's green it's had power continuously.

The purpose of life is to waste energy.

(the way I actually heard this is that life is the universe's attempt to maximize entropy)

The lights I use most are LEDs with dimmers. I still hear my dad yelling "Turn that damn light off" after I left a room. This was a half century ago.

I've got the opposite issue now. SWMBO will cook an entire (delicious) dinner in the semi-dark. I'm constantly turning on the overhead light in the kitchen. She always says "Thanks"- and means it.

Why she doesn't turn it on before she gets started is beyond me.

The thing I hear most is "FLUSH IT!!!" from my mother 50 years ago. I remember that situation. It didn't really need it and I was trying not to wake her up.

If it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown, flush it down.

I ordered the following from Amazon: Product details Special Feature Instant On Light Type LED Wattage 7 watts Light Color Daylight White Brand WYZM Connectivity Technology Infrared [Voltage]This tube light is double end powered, and suitable for 120 only, not for 12V.Please pay attention to your voltage before purchase to avoid return it. [Energy Saving]This LED tube lights are low-cost,environmentally friendly alternative, reduce your energy and save your power bill than equivalent fluorescent tube lighting. [Easy Installattion]The removal of ballast and rewiring for the installation was very simple. Must bypass ballast and rewire your fixture before you insert the led tubes.Wire positive one end and negative to the other end.

That looked like what I wanted, and it was very hard to find an 18 inch tube that was direct wire.

But it wasn't. The tubes that came said Plug-Play on them, but came with (unusually clear) instructions to remove ballast and rewire. So I did. They light but are very dim.

I emailed the manufacturer who replied quickly that these are PlugPlay and I should not rewire. I can return them but so far haven't found a replacement.

Will they fail, not having a ballast? And is that why they are dim?

I'm sure I can return them, but wondering.

Look on eBay not Amazon.

in packs of 1 or 4. Be sure to pick the 120V option.

Fluorescent tubes run at around 600 volts, you are only providing

120V. Something will fail.
