I just mow whatever grows. No chemicals - not even fertilizer ; no watering - I appreciate when it turns brown in August so it doesn't need mowing. I thoroughly enjoy all the dandelions and refer to them as " pretty yellow lawn flowers ". .. which they are. John T.

My climate-nutter libturd neighbors drive lithium powered cars and use lithium powered mowers, to save the planet I presume. Oddly, they also hire BigToxicChemCo to spray toxic chemicals all over their lawns.

Are you sure they're spraying toxic chemicals?

Same here. Once in a while my husband will use the weedwacker. I just can't be bothered.

I've been using TruGreen for the past four years and even though their rates are reasonable (except for aeration and seeding), I've recently removed the back yard from the lawn care plan and would like to try it myself.

Here is what TruGreen sprayed on my front lawn yesterday in case anyone understands it.

My lawn is not that great but OK and I just normally put down a pre-emergent around now and a fall fertilizer. Spring problems are crabgrass and Japanese stilt grass. Herbicides can kill crab grass if any grows but not the stilt grass.

I do nothing for my back yard down the hill and stilt grass has practically taken over but it is green, looks OK and wife is happy with it. Neighbors in back do nothing and leave it to deer. Would take constant premerg through out year to keep stilt grass away.

They're much better before they flower fried up with some bacon grease. They get bitter with age.

I have, sporadically. I used to spread Scott's Weed & Feed but it seemed to mostly feed the weeds. The other problem is most of the neighbor's are running dandelion plantations so it's a lost cause.

I did get a soil test kit and tried to supplement for pH etc, as well as monitoring soil temperature for optimal seeding times. After puttering around for 35 years it isn't a putting green so now I mow whatever grows.

I use RoundUp around areas that are tedious to trim but that's not what you're looking for.
