Lakewood Kool Operator 20 inch fan will not run even though motor turns freely. Possibly thermal fuse is blown. Is it possible to replace the fuse? If so, how? The fan was manufactured in August 1995.

Disassemble it to find the thermal fuse. Temporarily jumper it to see if it runs. If it does, let it run for an hour, observing it to make sure it's not over heating. Then the fuse should have marking to identify the voltage, current and temp. You can probably find one at Ebay or similar. As long as it's rated for the voltage and equal to or greater in ampacity than the original and the same temperature, it can be used.
