Is there a bathroom exhaust fan with a damper?

I have big east facing windows in the bathroom so in summer I run the exhaust fan from 9am-1pm to suck out the heat. Saves me $20 per month on my electric. So.. In the winter the exhaust fan sucks out the heat so I put a shower cap over it. My life would be easier if there was a damper I could close or one that opens when the fan is running

Lowes, Home Depot, or Amazon should have something. A search for bathroom fan with damper should get you started. You might try searching for kitchen fan with damper, too.

Don't turn it on.

Since none of us know what kind of exhaust fan you have or how it is mounted, it's kind of hard for use to answer your question.

Both of my ceiling mounted exhaust fan have damper build into the fan and there's also a damper at the end of the duct work where it exits the house.

The one that goes out through the roof looks like this:

If you have fan mounted right in the wall with no ductwork, maybe something like this is what you need:

I only worked on two, but both of those had dampers at the fan housing.

Would some sort of shades or blinds be practical? Maybe an external awning to keep the heat out in the first place?
