I hear that fuel prices are going to be high this winter, so I decided it was time to get more use from my fireplace. Just when I thought I heard it all, I went to buy a load of firewood from some local redneck who spends his whole life behind a chainsaw. I never bought from this guy but I saw his ad in the paper and he said he had a variety of wood types so I thought he must have the prettiest wood for me to choose from. I like my fireplace to look pretty so I am careful of the kind of wood I buy. I went to the guys farm and found piles and piles of wood in many different shapes and colors. I finally found the type that I liked and told the guy I wanted a load delivered. I was a little put off when he told me the price, but I agreed to pay his price as long as he unloads the truck and stacks it for me. He stroked my hair and agreed to stack the wood if I invite him in for coffee. I told him he has a deal.
Just as I was getting ready to leave, the guy asked me how many cords I want. Huh? I looked at the guy and said I dont want ANY cords. I dont want to plug the logs in, I want the ready to burn, cordless firewood. Everything these days is cordless, so why would I want old fashioned firewood that needs to be plugged in ! Does this guy think I'm an idiot?
Purchasing firewood can be so stressful.
