Fallen trees

Blizzard took down neighbor's tree close to border in his back yard into my yard. Figured I would have to pay for removal but they called and said they were taking care of it.

Same thing happened a couple of years ago when one of my trees fell into their yard and I paid for it. The tree actually spanned his driveway and he and his BIL cut that part before I could get a tree cutter in.

Good neighbors are like that as otherwise if it is in your yard it is your responsibility unless you can show it should have been removed as it endangered your property or house. One of my BIL's had insurance pay for tree removal that endangered neighbor's garage.

Just brought it up here as an interesting situation.

Around 40 years ago one of my neighbor's trees fell on my house in a storm ... he had been warned numerous times that it needed attention or this was going to happen . And he blew me and everybody else that warned him off . My insurance took care of the damage and paid the going rate for removal , which I did myself . Then they went after him and his insurance since it was obviously preventable . Next thing ya know there's a 6 foot chain link fence and we ain't friends no more .

so much for Robert Frost's famous line from his poem, Mending Wall. The line, "good fences make good neighbors". I guess your neighbor misread the poem. You must live in a very stable neighborhood. Forty years later neither of you have moved!

I don't know if that asshole till lives there ... we moved from that neighborhood in 1987 and have never looked back . We don't even live in Memfrica any more , though we still own property there . The neighbors here in The Holler are some of the best people I've ever lived near ...

Crew removed the tree this morning. It had come down Sunday night and removed Wednesday morning, today. Surprised they did it so fast.

We do have good neighbors. One came over a couple of weeks ago to plow the snow off my driveway as I was bringing out my snow thrower and another called Monday and said he could do it but I had already finished it. Then another cut down a small felled Dogwood on my front lawn.

I don't live in town ... 10 miles from town of around 3,000 . In a clearing out in the woods . There are 12 families down here in The Holler , we all help each other when there is a need . We're all middle age or older , mostly retired , and all lean conservative in our politics except one couple . They're our barometer of what the libs are up to .
