Discussion... ... Gusty, northerly winds are expected behind the cold front. NAM BUFKIT forecast soundings indicate mixing to ~850-800 mb, which should result in wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph at the surface. Some locations in northwest Oklahoma could see wind gusts around 55 mph based on forecast soundings.

Front arrived about 5:30AM here; peak I've monitored was 48 mph, but the station is only about 15 ft off the ground and somewhat in lee of the silo instead of at 10 m and an open area...

There are exemptions from the law. In heavy traffic. And of course there aren't many places where you make a left turn from a freeway.

The teachers want enough pay to be able to live on it, and enough funding to pay for books, school maintenance, school security, and all the many other things that schools should be providing.

Actually if the teachers get their way then it will be hard on all the states around Oklahoma. It will be much harder for them to poach Oklahoma teachers by offering them a living wage.

Fire the overpaid administration deadwood and spread the money around to the classrooms.

As an ex teacher, +10 on that!!

Our town has 1200 students in elementary, middle, high schools. Each has an administrative staff larger than the high school of 3200 students I graduated from.

Then the teachers have to take over the jobs that the admin staff has been doing. Plus they are already taking their work home and working several hours of overtime to get the work they are supposed to be doing done. Then they are buying school supplies out of their own pockets, and sometimes having to do janitorial work, because the schools can't afford the support staff they need.
