Deteriorated garage door

This is the side door, for humans, not the main door for cars. There is water damage near the bottom: the bottom rail is still intact and in good shape. The part that's coming apart appears to be just the exterior layer of the door, in effect the veneer. It's more than just the paint, but not much more.It looks like it will cost me upwards of $400 to get the door replaced, so I thought I might take the door off the hinges, and try to glue it all back in place. I have some liquid epoxy that's part of the WoodEpox system, some Locktite Exterme glue, and Titebond III wood glue.Another possibility would be to try to remove the bottom 6 inches of the veneer, and replace it with - something, possibly even WoodEpox.What do you think?What would be a Youtube search that would show something like this being fixed?

I would stick some J channel on it.

That would work with my door but door practically scrapes walk in front of it on opening and I would have to remove it and trim it down. Door is on a small storage area built into back of the house and I seldom open it. Would not have noticed it if not for this tread.
