Hello, I recently purchased a home with a Clare Megasave furnace..installed in 1985. Anyone have any comments on this furnace, life expectancey, experience etc? Any comments appreciated. Brent

Are you sure that's not the name of the installer?
The furnace has 3 heat exchangers and the last one needs to be cleaned by a professional. It's usually flushed internally with water and the cover is very carefully resealed to prevent fumes from entering the home. The outer surfaces of the heat exchangers should be cleaned from the outside. It needs once a year inspection and service. They seem to be built strong and parts are easy to get so far.
