building an over door canopy

im wanting to build an over door / front of house canopy the lengh will be approx 21 foot /6.5 metre

the canopy will extend out approx 750mm and will be covered wit slate tiles and have a sloping roo

i am pretty confident in building the canopy and have all the tool required

but i could do with some expert advice / desig as i want the pitch etc to be correct plus the strength

the problem i have is what would be the correct way to build th supports plus fix the to the wall supports

any help would be grateful as i would like to complete this before th weather turns to ba

A few words about house constrcution would help. Is it wood frame & siding, wood frame & brick veneer, masonry...

good point you have there

the house is constructed of bricks and mortar and has a slate roof i want the canopy to match with the roof of the house

i am planning to rawlbolt 2 timbers to the front of the house to bea the weight of the canopy and have 4 vertical supports as wel

I think for a project like this you should consult with an architect. You will probably need to submit plans to your town for approval and take out the necessary permits and have your work inspected.
