Aux Heat not working normally? (only up 4F in 2 hours)

Hello,

(I know very little about this subject, though I've tried to learn a lot in the last 2 weeks)

I have a First Co. 30VDX15-HP heatpump unit in my apt with a Lux TX9100E thermostat.

At night my temperature is set to 62F and to 68F in the morning. After 2 hours it's only up by 4 degrees (to 66F), while the heat is running continuously.

Is this normal or a sign my auxiliary heat isn't working?

The thermostat shows Stage1 + Aux (until it reaches the set temp within

2F) at which point it shows Stage1 (that seems right)

I'm in Columbus, Ohio, so it's cold at night (in the low 10s)

So while it does eventually warm up, this just seems to slow, or is this normal?

Is there a way for me to test this? Should I try to run this in \"Emergency\" mode which, if I correctly understand this, would run it only in Aux mode (w/o Stage

1)? Or is there another way to tell? The heatpump unit in my apartment looks ancient.

Thanks!

Don't mess with it. You might blow yourself up.
