Hi all, I have these mysterious spots in clusters that appear at the edge of walls, along this door arch in our house, and on door frames. I also see them though in much smaller quantity on the kitchen cabinet doors. I clean them, they reappear! It's mainly in the area in the vicinity of the kitchen. A couple of spots also on the opposite wall of the living room. Nothing in the bedroom. I'm attaching images, the spots are yellowish-red. I thought at first they were splashes from the kitchen but now they have appeared even near the ceiling, and they are so many, definitely not just oil or food drops. They seem to prefer edges over anything else. Help??

Based on the description provided, it is possible that the spots are mold or mildew. However, without a proper inspection and testing, it is difficult to confirm the exact cause. The brown color can be an indication of mold, but it could also be caused by other factors such as staining from food or other substances.

It would be best to have a professional inspect the area to confirm whether or not the spots are mold and to determine the best course of action for removal. In the meantime, you can try cleaning the affected areas with a solution of water and bleach to see if that makes a difference.

It's worth noting that mold can cause health problems and should be dealt with as soon as possible. If you suspect mold, it's advisable to avoid cleaning it yourself and instead hire professional remediation services.

To prevent mold or mildew from growing in the future, it is recommended to keep the humidity levels in your home low, use exhaust fans in the kitchen and bathroom, fix any leaks promptly and ensure that there is proper ventilation throughout the house. Clean and disinfect the affected areas with a mold-killing solution such as bleach and water.
