what is the correct water temperature for really OLD cast iron boiler?

Feb 14, 2015 0 Replies

I have a big old cast iron boiler. I want to know what the correct setting for the water in the boiler/radiators is. Any advice?

It is presently set at 150 degrees, but the boiler pressure gets really high (over 50 psi) when the boiler water temp is set 150 degrees, and the water is overflowing from the pressure relief valve. Is am worried that this over 50 PSI is too high.

Any advice really appreciated

Thanks
