Is there any trick to this? Is it simply placing the seed in soil (as nature does) and leaving it outside for the winter? Jackie

Hi Jackie, Basically, that is what you do. There is also something called 'winte sowing' that can be done with a little more control. Very rewarding. Take a look at the FAQ's here.
