Sweet grass lawn

Has anyone tried to grow Hierochloe odorata (aka vanilla grass and sacred grass) as a lawn? Mine seems to have a strong tendency to spread. I'd like to rip up a section of regular lawn and replace it with sweet grass. Just wondering how much maintenance and what kind of foot traffic it can take.

It can't take a lot of foot traffic and it grows along the top of the soil, so mowing is not easy, either...IMO

Need a good, cheap, knowledge expanding present for yourself or a friend?
