Humidity control in an Alpine House

Jan 05, 2004 0 Replies

As anyone ever tried actively controlling humidity in an Alpine House?

Being of a technical background, I was musing on a dehumidifier & an extract fan, measurement of humidity & temperature inside & out & a little logic to control what gets used................... Probably need to cover the sand plunge beds in chippings to reduce evaporation from them.

If you could keep it below 65% or so the risk of mould wiping out touchy things like Dionysias should be considerably reduced?

Anyone try, or hear of someone trying such a scheme? Might it be worthwhile?
