Carpathian walnut question

i have an ugly Carpathian walnut that the former owners planted in the front yard. it's not that it's inherently ugly, the poor thing has problems... bag worms & borers. i'm not a pesticide user, so i could use suggestions on biologic/not toxic to the wildlife (except the pests<g>) controls. also, does it need another Carpathian walnut to have nuts? it should be old enough to bear, but it doesn't. i've been blaming the borers though. oh, & is it susceptable to butternut blight? i have a big problem with that too. lee <who has American chestnut seedlings this year though>
