We are small non-profit from Madagascar, and we just launch a sell of
baoabab seeds from Madagascar to support our reforestation project and
you may be intersted to make grow Malagasy Baobab tree at home!
'Baobab seeds to grow home, forest restore in Madagascar!'
For the last three years, we at Vakanala, a non-profit organization,
have been working to conserve and restore the unique primary forests
near the rural community of Ilomena in southwestern Madagascar. One of
the top ten hotspots of biodiversity on Earth, the forests of Madagascar
are home to over 200,000 different species. An estimated 80% of these
plants and animals are endemic to the island of Madagascar and are found
nowhere else in the world. Even so, over 100,000 hectares of these
forests, and the rare plants and animals in them, disappear to logging
To reverse this dramatic decline, we have established a large nursery in
the Madagascan village of Iantoha, which allows us to plant more than
200,000 trees just this year, but we can't do it alone. To support us,
we are offering seeds of a Madagascan baobab tree (Adansonia za) for you
to plant at home. The funds raised here will go directly to the nursery
and reforestation program to help us grow year over year.
Each seed purchased helps fund the planting of two new trees.
