"All Grow Lights are not created equal"

10/15/2005 Bend OR, "All Grow Lights are not created equal" Long awaited "Plant Specific Lighting" is here, from LED Grow-Master Global.

Finally, indoor gardening enthusiasts and research scientists alike, can erase heat from their formula, by adding new LED Grow-Master Advanced Growth Arrays to their gardens, and test plots.

Emitting 100% Plant-Absorbed-Light, LED Grow-Master Gro-Bars use a patented blend of LEDs, to produce only colors of light that plants need to grow.

Costing up to $135.00 per month to operate, high-wattage HID lighting systems produce only 25% visible light, the rest is invisible heat, and only =BD an HIDs visible light is actually absorbed by plants and used for photosynthesis.

"Plant Specific Lighting has much more to offer," says Jonathan Cardinale, CEO of LED Grow-Master Global. "Eliminating wasted light (Green/Yellow) and heat (Infra-Red) make LED Grow-Master Gro-Bars the most efficient plant lighting systems on the market today, with 90% electrical savings, and 98% less heat, eliminating the need for large exhaust fans."

No Mercury, No Glass, No UV, and 7-10 years rated life make LED Grow-Master Lighting Systems the "Greenest" horticultural lighting available, facing the world's energy crunch head-on, with efficiency.

Low voltage UL listed power supplies, and advance circuitry make these systems safe for kids and pets, opening the doors to classrooms, and home gardeners.

Easy to hang, and move LED Grow-Master Plant Lighting Systems allow for maximum control in your garden, giving completely directional light eliminates the need for a reflector.

Who'll be shocked to find that once again spammers are lying dipwads? When companies spam usenet for business they prove they are desparate for business, inevitably because they're selling mislabeled turds.

Nonsensical boasting that most of the spectrum is missing therefore it's good for the garden is like selling dehydrated water to aquarium enthusiasts.

Such a lighting system, restricted to such a narrow portion of the spectrum, would require the costly waste of a greater amount of electricity to obtain an inferior effect on plants over a smaller gardened space -- by requiring a large number of LEDs arranged in banks, & by needing to be left on for longer periods to get anything approximating the beneficial effect; energy savings & improved plant performance are not seriously in the offing.

Spammers don't site independent agricultural studies for peer-review publication because this research does not indicate serious value of light emitting diodes for home gardening. Vendors have to rely on their own pretense of personal authority while making baseless claims for the junk they're huckstering. When a company's owners gives a sales pitch while pretending ownership of a spamming outfit constitutes expertise, don't count on ANY of the boasts, percentages, & pretend-science reaching even the level of half-truths.

Here's the truth: Ghastly expensive LED lighting systems provide about the same benefit to plants as a cheap incadescent lightbulb, which share limited spectrum, but they do it over a smaller area. And the worst flourescent light would have a far better spectrum for plants than the best LED light offered for use over plants. Only a moron would pay humongus dollars for the same or smaller benefit obtainable from an ordinary light.

But then, the #1 crop in Bend Oregon is marijuana (which is why this same spammer also deposited his spam-whoppers alt.drugs.pot ). The claims for these lights that they use less electricity (not true where getting sufficient light to plants is concerned) & they generate no heat (as though flourescents do) are aimed at the paranoia of felons who know helecoptors take infra-red photos of roofs to detect hot-spots & the electric company monitors sudden increases in electricity to catch basement growers. For such felons, the claims made for these LEDs are of supreme importance, even if they don't actually get the protection from the law they hope to get by using light emitting diodes.

If that target audience is already stoned on what they've got in the basement, probably they're slow-witted enough to fall for this kind of baseless boasting, meaningless claims, & made-up data. I doubt such outfits (which are numerous & tend to be fly-by-night since they service an underground drug culture) will ever reach that target audience by their persistent spamming of actual gardeners in numerous gardening newsgroups & bulletin boards, where some of these outfits are notorious even for the use of sockpuppets (like the notorious "Grnthb" who posts stealth spam for an identical product) always promoting tenth-rate overpriced lighting systems they pretend merely to have stumbled upon & got superstupor results.

Post some specifications and let us be the judge

Sure my LED flashlight is great and uses little power and can probably grow a seedling if it is placed right next to it, hardly suitable for anything else.
