Picked up a 50 ft heavy duty cord at the hardware store last weekend for the garage, got it home, uncoiled it, and both ends are plugs. Like actual male plugs with the prongs. I stood there for a good minute thinking I was losing my mind. The package clearly shows a plug on one end and the outlets on the other, so this has to be a factory mistake, right? I never even heard of a cord made this way until I looked it up and apparently they exist for generator hookups, which honestly sounds terrifying. This one is definitely not that though, it's just a regular 16 gauge cord rated for 13 amps. Good thing I noticed before plugging it into the wall, because the other end was allready sitting next to the fridge where I was gonna run it.
Anyway, is this something the store would even take back? The sleeve is torn open so I can't exactly resell it, but I figure a miswired cord straight from the factory is on them. Curious if anyone else has run into this or if I just won the lottery on quality control.
