What type of cable for outdoor light

I have an outdoor light, just a normal household bulb and not one of those super bright halogen things. I want to run a 2nd light from the first one so that the 2 lights come on when switched on. I intend to take the power source from the existing light socket and run a cable to the second one. What type of cable / rating to I need to use? Both bulbs will be those low watt long life power saving type.

thanks

Firstly check that there is a neutrual at the light switch if this is where you wish to get your power from.

Where is the cable running, outside on a wall, under floorboards, underground?

I was thinking of taking the power not from the light switch but from the original light socket. The cable will run from the existing `light socket` which is outdoor but under cover and the extension will run along the outside of the house about

10 feet above ground level, but attached to the wall of the house.

That will be a light "fitting" then :-)

If the light in the photo only controlled by a switch and nothing else then you need some 1.0mm twin and and earth cable then.
