I'm new to the group and have a question I hope someone here might be able to answer.
I've had a Carron Pheonix Summit 175 sink (granite) for many years and have been delighted with it. Unfortunately, following an underfloor leak my fitted kitchen has had to be taken out, and in doing so the sink was cracked and the worktops were sawn out so both need to be replaced. It is all covered by insurance so that's not a problem.
However, when it was fitted about 7 years ago the sink had been undermounted into an MDF/laminated worktop by an Essex company called Bold, who are no longer trading. The sink arrived from the factory set into a piece of worktop, which the kitchen fitters then cut and installed on site.
The kitchen company now tell me that they know of no other company offering this service and I am devastated. The sink looked so nice, and it was so practical to have the rim of the sink flush with the worktop. Does anyone know whether there are any other companies anywhere in the UK offering this service?
I've been told that the only type of undermounted sink I can have is stainless steel under granite, although Carron Pheonix have told me that there is no reason the Summit can't be undermounted.
