Mersey Main Supplies

Are Mersey Main Multipoint BF Heaters still available?

They are advertised/ offered from 325.00 inc VAT to over £600.00

I haven't tried any of the upmarket sources, but all those advertising the units for < £350.00 are out of stock!

Anyone know of a supplier at the 320 ish end of the scale thst may have one in stock?

Why the price difference?

They are all BF the FF are dearer still.

Many builder's merchants still use the model of doubling the price, and then offering some customers (regulars, account holders, or possibly even someone who starts bartering) a 50% discount. I guess some people probably go in and pay the inflated price.

I saw a similar spread of prices when I bought a boiler some years ago. Plumb Center were the most expensive at the time (by a long way).

I found one [In stock] for £348.

My local gas showroom wanted £600+ , I will not be visiting that place again.

So far It was a doddle to fit. It replaced the old Mersey Main quite easily.

The worse bit will be tomorrow, all the piping now seems designed to enter from beneath, not the side like the old one.

I'll have to go shopping, all my plumbing bits and fittings are in SW Ireland where a central heating project I embarked on was interrupted by work :-(.

Anyway thanks for your input into my heating prob's. I can have the first bath of the year now ;-)
